What should be done if the image of marine radar becomes blurred and dim?

When the radar echo becomes fuzzy and dim, how to judge the cause of equipment failure?

After using the marine navigation radar for a certain period of time, the image may become fuzzy and dim. In this case, how can we determine the cause of the equipment problem? You can do the as the follows:

If the onboard radar is equipped with PM (Performance Monitor), turn on the corresponding performance monitor function in the menu. According to the image of the performance monitor, you can judge whether the transmission power of the magnetron has decreased. If there is a decrease, replace the magnetron, as shown in the image example of the performance monitor below:

As shown in the above image, the echo of the right outer circle disappears, which proves that the transmission power of magnetron decreases

If the radar is not equipped with magnetron and has self-test function, the radar self-test function can be used to check whether the high voltage (HV) is normal (about 330V) and the tune voltage is normal (32V). If the high voltage is not normal, the high voltage board of the main engine is faulty and needs to be replaced; if the tune voltage is not normal, the RF power board is faulty and needs to be replaced.
