Installation precautions

The antenna and transceiver unit are generally installed on the top of the cab or on a suitable platform. In order to ensure maximum target visibility, the antenna should be installed at a higher position.

The distance from the intersection of the line of sight from the antenna unit to the bow and the sea surface to the antenna unit shall not exceed 500 meters or twice the length of the hull, whichever is the minimum.

● The installation of antenna and transceiver unit shall ensure the minimum detection blind area. In the horizontal direction of antenna unit, there shall be no blind area 22.5 ° to the right and 22.5 ° to the left. Meanwhile, in the remaining angle, the angle of individual detection blind area shall not be greater than 5 ° and the total detection blind area angle shall not be greater than 20 °. Note that if the angle between two detection blind areas is less than or equal to 3 °, it will be regarded as a detection blind area.

Install the antenna and transceiver unit away from other high-power interference sources and radio antenna.

Keep the lowest edge of the antenna 0.5m or more higher than the safety fence.

When installing two antennas, the installation position must follow the figure below:

In order to prevent blind area and wrong echo from being displayed on radar image, mast or suspender shall be within ± 5 ° of vertical beam width of antenna unit.

If the initial installation of the radar cannot guarantee a clear view in all directions, the installation angle needs to be adjusted after fixing.

To prevent the influence of radar on the navigator and compass, the distance between them and the radar should be greater than 1.8m.

In order to transmit radar wave well, the radiation holes of antenna should not be painted.

With reference to the size of the antenna unit, there should be enough space for rotation.
